1. The Blind-First Standard
Aligned strictly enforces a blind-first matchmaking standard to prevent superficial judgment and profile scraping. Your profile images are automatically encrypted and heavily blurred via our secure media endpoint. Full-resolution imagery is completely blocked and is only revealed to your match once a mutual handshake is completed.
2. Vector Encryption & Math Matching
Your personality test responses are securely processed and transformed into anonymized 384-dimensional numerical vector embeddings using local sentence-transformers models. We do not sell, trade, or share your raw answers or vectors. Matching operations are run entirely via mathematical calculations on our secure servers.
3. Complete Chat Erasure (72 Hours)
To uphold absolute conversation privacy, Aligned chats are ephemeral. Once a 72-hour match window expires, all messages, handshakes, and chat histories are permanently and irreversibly purged from our database systems. We do not keep logs, backups, or archives of your dissolved chats.
4. University Verification & Credentials
Your student email address and verification credentials are used strictly for manual profile vetting by the admin moderation team. We do not display your email on your profile, nor do we disclose your verified college name to matches. You are represented purely by your anonymized first name.
5. Independent Platform — Built on Personality, Not Identity
Aligned is an entirely independent platform and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or representative of any specific college, university, or educational institution. The sole purpose of Aligned is to connect two individuals whose personalities, values, and interests are deeply compatible — nothing more, nothing less. Your campus identity is never used as a matching criterion; only your authentic self matters here.
Aligned does not implement web tracking pixels, marketing cookies, or third-party analytical SDKs that monitor your activities outside the app. Your peace of mind is absolute.
